Hua Hin Preservation Run to Raise Funds for Environmental Protection

On April 7, 2023, the Naresdamri Conference Room at the Hua Hin Municipal Office was filled with representatives from various agencies and the media, who had gathered for the press conference of the 17th Hua Hin Preservation Run.

The 17th Hua Hin Preservation Run, also known as the 3rd Hua Hin Marathon, is set to take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023, in front of Khao Krailas Temple in Hua Hin District. The event is organized by the Hua Hin Preservation Club, under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Kanitthathiraj Chao Department of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, in collaboration with Hua Hin Municipality and Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The run aims to raise funds to support the activities of the Hua Hin Protection Club, which works towards protecting the environment in the municipality of Hua Hin, raising awareness of beach conservation, and developing the mangrove ecosystem.

The last piece of mangrove forest ecosystem development project in Hua Hin, covering an area of 18 rai in the area of Khao Krailas Temple, will also be showcased as a new type of tourism center under the name of the “Krailat Niwet” project. The marathon will have four types of competitions: marathon, half marathon, mini marathon, and a walk-run for health. The event is expected to attract more than 3,500 Thai and foreign runners, with opportunities for people with disabilities who are members of the Run Together Foundation to experience running on the beach in Hua Hin.

The event was chaired by Mr. Komkrit Charoenpattanasombat, the Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, and attended by officials such as Mr. Nopporn Wuthikul, the Mayor of Hua Hin, Mr. General Krit Phuangvalaisin, the Hua Hin District Chief, and Mrs. Wasana Srikanchana, the President of the Hua Hin / Cha-am Tourism Business Association.

The Hua Hin Preservation Run is not only an important event for sports enthusiasts but also a significant boost to the economy and tourism of Hua Hin. The event showcases the natural beauty of the area and raises awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.
