Hua Hin Coffee Council Tackles Water Supply Issues and Election Preparation in Weekly Meeting

Every Wednesday morning, the Coffee Council gathers at the Hua Hin Municipal Office under the leadership of Municipal Deputy Head of Government Agencies, Poolsuk Room. The group meets to follow up on various tasks, projects, and activities as outlined by the policy of the Hua Hin Mayor.

One of the pressing issues discussed during a recent meeting was the upcoming election of members for Hua Hin City Council Constituency 3, scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 23, 2023. The council explored ways to publicize the event and ensure that citizens were aware of it.

Additionally, the council discussed the current water supply situation in Hua Hin. With an influx of tourists and the onset of the summer or dry season, the municipality is struggling to keep up with water demand. Moreover, there have been issues with broken water pipes causing periodic disruptions to the water supply.

To address these problems, the council considered both short-term and long-term solutions. They also discussed the ways in which citizens can voice their grievances through the Line application, specifically the group “Receiving Complaints,” which was set up to allow people to report issues related to the municipality’s services.

The council instructed heads of government agencies to organize personnel under their jurisdiction to acknowledge and answer questions from the public during this time. They also tasked the Strategic Division with adjusting guidelines for receiving complaints and opinions from the public to ensure a speedy resolution of problems.

In addition to these matters, the council was updated on several upcoming events. The Division of Education informed the group about the Songkran Festival in 2023, which will include a sand pagoda construction contest and folk games at Hua Hin Beach. The festival will also feature musical performances, including Ghost Jumping Tai and watering the elders at Pone King Phet Public Park.

Finally, the Office of the Permanent Secretary notified the council of the Department of Municipality Day, which will take place on April 24, 2023. The day will involve a merit-making ceremony, where dry rice will be offered to monks. The office will also hold a Big Cleaning event to report to the province further.
