Thailand’s Royal Decree on Internet Crime Prevention and Suppression, B.E. 2066 (2023), was published in the Royal Gazette. The law has been in force since March 17, 2023. According to the law, persons who are defrauded online may contact hotlines set up by 15 commercial banks 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to ensure quick action against the harm.
Moreover, creating an account, electronic card, or electronic wallet for any purpose other than personal use, or permitting someone else to use their SIM card for any criminal conduct, entails penalties of two to five years in jail, a maximum fine of 200,000-500,000 baht, or both.
