Strong winds, rain, and a slick Petchkasem Road have all conspired to cause an accident involving more than ten cars, obstructing the road and rendering the southern route in Prachuap Khiri Khan impassable. Cars have been stuck for several kilometers, and the Prachuap Highway District wants to open the road to Bangkok as soon as possible so that cars can move as quickly as possible.
On March 13, 2023, at approximately 1:00 p.m., it was reported that in the Mueang District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, there was a strong wind and rain that made the road slippery, resulting in a car crash accident that damaged many cars. And obstructing traffic, preventing cars from passing through and paralyzing them for many kilometers, including sedans, pickup trucks, tour buses, trucks, vans, and electric vehicles.
The incident occurred on Petchkasem Road, near Km. 291 + 300, in the southern leg of the curve. Ban Khlong Chai Thong is located in the Bon Nok Subdistrict of the Mueang District of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Mr. Suphot Sermsup, head of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Highway Division, and Police Captain Artit Butlakhon, Deputy Inspector of Investigation, Muang Prachuap Police Station, are leading police officers to facilitate traffic, along with highway patrol officers, a Highway District Officer, and highway rescue officers. By coordinating with local rescuers to assist the injured and transport them to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital, as well as accelerating the opening of a route on Petchkasem Road on Bangkok’s inbound side so that cars can run in the opposite direction. To expedite the release of cars, an opportunity to pass through while clearing the damage from each party car was created.
According to the preliminary investigation, three females were injured and taken to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital, and 12 cars were damaged.
