Thailand and China jointly inaugurated a training program at Thailand’s Chiang Mai University on Monday to improve e-commerce abilities among vocational school students in the Southeast Asian country.
According to the training program’s creators, the “Chinese Language plus Professional Skills” e-commerce training program combines Chinese e-commerce experiences with Thai characteristics.
The five-day training program, which includes 65 students, covers topics such as the growth of the China-Thailand e-commerce business, e-commerce platform operations, short video production, e-commerce platform foundations, and network marketing.
“With this training program, Thai vocational students will strengthen their e-commerce abilities while simultaneously studying Chinese,” Somporn Pandam, deputy secretary general of Thailand’s Ministry of Education’s Vocational Education Commission, stated.
According to the official, the training program is a collaboration initiative involving many Thai and Chinese partners.
The training program is part of a series of “Chinese Language plus Professional Skills” initiatives coordinated by Chiang Mai University and the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University, according to Pitipong Yodmongkol, Vice President of Chiang Mai University.
It is intended to assist nurture knowledgeable and competent minds and has become an essential force in boosting cultural, economic, and trade contacts between the two nations, he added.
According to Hao Shumei, vice president of Yunnan Normal University, which supports the training program, the training program will boost the growth of cultural and economic contacts between China and Thailand.
Statistics indicated that nearly 2,000 Thai vocational school professors and students engaged in the e-commerce training programs launched in 2021.
