Suvarnabhumi International Airport has begun upgrading its security screening equipment in the departure terminal. The airport also cautioned departing passengers of probable delays owing to checkpoint closures as part of the redevelopment.
Suvarnabhumi Airport has informed departing passengers of the possibility of delays due to renovation work at its security checkpoints, where new equipment is being installed. The airport is installing an automatic tray return system at security checkpoints, where departing travelers must have their carry-on luggage inspected for forbidden goods.
The new tray system will help quadruple checkpoint capacity from 3,300 to 6,650 people per hour. Passengers should expect a speedier procedure and reduced congestion at the airport once it is operational.
To deal with the present situation, the airport stated it is sending more people to assist passengers and has cooperated with immigration police to guarantee a sufficient number of personnel at passport control. Nonetheless, departing travelers are urged to arrive at least 3 hours before departure time to prevent any surprises.
