The Thai SELECT trademark, which certifies the originality and quality of Thai meals offered at these businesses, has been given to additional restaurants by the Ministry of Commerce. This ad tries to enhance client confidence throughout the tourist rebound.
The Thai SELECT accreditation was presented to 217 restaurants that passed quality inspection in 2022 by Deputy Minister of Trade Sinit Lertkrai. The winning restaurants passed various tests, including a criterion of 80% Thai meals on the menu, the application of traditional Thai cooking methods, the use of Thai materials and seasonings, exceptional flavor and food quality, good venue décor, and excellent services.
Restaurants who have been given the Thai SELECT brand will have the opportunity to engage in specific marketing and promotional activities on social media, including reviews from influencers.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Commerce introduced a unique campaign incorporating the Thai SELECT brand, with private enterprises like wholesalers and food delivery platforms giving special offers for Thai SELECT eateries.
Thai SELECT branding has been given to over 1,500 restaurants worldwide, with 473 of them situated in Thailand. The Ministry of Trade is constantly pushing this program, which uses food as a soft power asset to promote consumption and Thai culture.
