During a recent military drill in Lopburi province, two soldiers were slain.
General Narongpan Jitkaewthae, Commander of the Royal Thai Army, has conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased, Master Sergeant Sa-nga Joitho and Cadet Phuwanai Kumlangdee.
The two were participating in a training at a military base in Ban Di Lang, Phatthana Nikhom district, when a transport vehicle and a pickup truck toppled, injuring them severely. Both were taken to the neighboring Ananda Mahidol Hospital, but died from their injuries despite immediate medical care.
General Narongpan initially visited the families of the deceased and directed that burial ceremonies be held in their respective home provinces of Phitsanulok and Prachinburi for Master Sergeant Sa-nga and Cadet Phuwanai.
The general also said that the Royal Thai Army will shortly organize an inquiry committee to look into the incident’s cause.
