The Revenue Department claimed that it will rigorously scrutinize any questionable personal income tax filings while assuring the public that eligible taxpayers will get refunds within three days.
Lavaron Sangsnit, the department’s director-general, has indicated that authorities will extensively scrutinize any personal income tax filings that include dubious information in order to maintain openness. If it is found that the tax filings are eligible, the department will take seven days or more to provide refunds to the persons concerned. He promised that those with no errors in their forms will receive their reimbursements within three days.
The tax filing season is open until March 31st, during which time people must record their income and file their tax forms. Lavaron voiced fear that fraudsters would take advantage of this moment to mislead and steal from victims. He further advised that the department exclusively interacts by postal letters and never via SMS or Line communications, and that individuals should not download any applications.
The new restrictions are due to go into force next month. Call 1161 for further information about the new measure.
