During a meeting this week, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) revealed that Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla provinces have been chosen as venues for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in 2025.
The teleconference meeting was presided by by Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, who was joined by Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn and SAT Governor Kongsak Yodmanee.
The 33rd SEA Games, a biannual multi-sport event, will take place from December 9th to December 20th, 2025. The event will bring together participants from the ten ASEAN states as well as Timor-Leste.
In addition, the meeting chose Nakhon Ratchasima as the host city for the 13th ASEAN Para Games. These games will take place from January 20th to January 26th, 2026, and will include sporting activities for athletes with impairments.
Thailand will host the SEA Games for the first time since 2007 and the ASEAN Para Games since 2015. The activities are intended to strengthen the country’s sports and tourism industries.
