PM Gives 15 Cities In 14 Provinces Smart City Logos

15 communities in 14 provinces have received the Smart Cities designation in an effort to boost their profile and attract public and private sector investment. Approximately 16 million people will gain from these communities’ efforts to become Smart Cities.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha praised the logo recipients, saying they had made significant contributions to city growth and resource efficiency. Projects like this are important since they enhance people’s standard of living.

For their attentiveness to the national policy demanding the actual development of smart cities, Gen. Prayut congratulated all sectors. He mentioned that the ongoing efforts in this area were in line with the Smart City Steering Committee’s guidelines. These guidelines apply to defining the parameters and ultimate goals of smart cities and to designing their associated digital and physical infrastructure. Sustainability in municipal administration, as well as the provision of services across seven domains, are directly related to the aforementioned concepts.

Additionally, the prime minister mentioned that during his travels to the provinces he had seen favorable developments in the smart cities. Provinces like Phuket, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, Rayong, and Chonburi fall within this category. Incomes have grown, the General remarked, and the smart cities have been a success thanks to effective administration and planning. He said he hopes the effort will be expanded so that the smart cities ecosystem may spread to other provinces and increase prosperity across the country.

Income and growth, the prime minister claims, will be realized through networked development, leaving no one behind. However, he stressed the need of taking into account regional cultures and customs.
