A New Memorial Wall Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes

The Royal Thai Army has dedicated a memorial wall bearing the names of almost 6,000 troops who died while serving the nation in various battles, including World War I, the French-Indochina fight, the Greater East Asian War, and the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Army Commander Gen Narongphan Jitkaewtae approved the wall’s construction, which was the scene of a wreath-laying ceremony attended by the army chief and his wife, Maj Gen Pimpisa, who leads the Thai Army Wives Association.

According to army authorities, each name on the building represents troops who were murdered while safeguarding the country, addressing instability in the southern provinces, or contributing to national peace and order.

The area surrounding the memorial wall has also been refurbished, and army soldiers may now enjoy rest spaces and workout areas.
