Public Health Ministry Reaffirms Thai Health System Confidence

With the Thai government expecting a large number of Chinese visitors, the Ministry of Public Health has expressed renewed faith in Thailand’s medical system and its capacity to control the spread of COVID-19.

Additionally, it was mentioned that Thailand has shown it can manage COVID infections and prevent deaths better than many other nations.

Anutin Charnvirakul, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, has guaranteed that the country is prepared with enough doctors and nurses to deal with any emergencies.

The minister was alluding to China’s decision to end its travel ban this coming Sunday, enabling its citizens unrestricted access to travel to any country in the world. Even still, the action has raised alarm bells in several countries about the prospect of fresh COVID waves.

The number of COVID instances within China’s borders is rising. To avoid potential breakouts, some countries have instituted stringent entrance rules for Chinese visitors.

Once the ban is lifted, the Tourism Authority of Thailand predicts that at least 300,000 Chinese tourists would visit the kingdom in the first quarter of 2023. There are presently no entrance requirements for Chinese visitors to Thailand.

In the meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health recently convened a conference of key health authorities to examine the issue. In order to ensure the public’s safety and confidence, attendees evaluated information from the worldwide community on how to deal with COVID-19 in the post pandemic period and made revisions to their current plans.
