Police ordered to quickly find fugitive heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya

The Royal Thai Police have been told to identify fugitive Red Bull heir Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya as soon as possible and bring him to justice for his reckless driving that resulted in the killing of a police officer a decade ago.

According to Government Spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha gave the order during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, asking law enforcement to identify and return Vorayuth Yoovidhya to Thailand.

In addition, police have been directed to expedite their investigation of state officials and other persons associated with the matter.

Vorayuth has been on the run since September 3, 2012, when he fatally struck a Thong Lor police officer with his Ferrari. The sole remaining allegation against him is careless driving resulting in death, which carries a jail sentence of up to 10 years and a 15-year statute of limitations that expires in 2027.
