Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul, Mayor of Hua Hin, has announced the opening of the Hua Hin Sunset Run on September 9, 2022, at the Khao Tao Reservoir Project. During the event, an opening ceremony was held for Sports Tourism Project No. 1, 2022, which was titled “HUA HIN SUNSET RUN @KAO TAO 2022.”
Hua Hin Municipality, in partnership with the Hua Hin-Cha-Am Tourism Business Association, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Prachuap Khiri Khan Office of Tourism and Sports, the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, and the Hua Hin Sports Development Association, as well as other government and private organisations in the region, organised the HuaHin Sunset Run @Khao-tao 2022 initiative for Thai and foreign tourists in the Hua Hin District.
In addition to providing a relaxing environment, the walking and running competition that was held had the objective of improving the participants’ overall health. An additional advantage was the potential for Hua Hin’s tourism industry to receive a boost as a result. The walking and running competition was separated into two categories: the fun run, which consisted of a 5.9 kilometre race without an age limit and five prizes for both men and women; and the 9.9 kilometre race, which consisted of five awards for both men and women, including an age category reward. age group 29–39, age group 40–49, age group 50–59, and age group 60 or older
The ceremony was presided over by General Krit Phuangvalaisin, who is the District Chief of Hua Hin. He was joined by Mr. Preeda Sukjai, who is the District Chief of Pranburi; Mr. Siraphan Kamolpramote, who is the Advisor to the Mayor; Ms. Busaba Choksuchart, who is the Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin; Mr. Jeerawat Prahmanee, who is the Municipal Permanent Secretary;
Other delegates present included Mr. Issara Sathanaset, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan Office, and Mrs. Wasana Srikanjana, President of the Hua Hin-Cha-Am Tourism Business Association, in addition to representatives from a variety of other government, private, and public agencies.
