July 19, 2022, the reporter visited a family in Hang Chat District, Lampang Province. The cat’s owner did not want to disclose the address because she feared people would swarm and disturb the newborn kitten. The kitten’s name is “Siver Bag” and “Golden Bag”, born on July 17, 2022, only 2-3 days old, gender unknown, but has two faces, four eyes, two noses, two mouths, and only two ears, which is believed to be a sporadic case.
The cat’s owner is 29 years old; she said the cat’s mother is only two years old. The first kitten in the same litter was born at about 10 o’clock on the day; after that, the cat’s mother could not give birth to the second kitten; more than 6 hours had passed, and the mother cat wanted to push the baby out, but still can’t. When the mother cat was weak and on the verge of death, at about 4 pm, the owner decided to take it to the veterinarian, so the doctor gave it a caesarean section, but she was shocked to find that the kitten had two faces and also the third kitten. Under normal circumstances, the youngest would not survive, but all the cats were safe in the end.
Because the two-face kitten can’t support its head by itself, the owner has to feed the kitten with goat milk on behalf of the cat’s mother. She originally planned to leave the kittens to others to take care of because she had no experience in raising kittens, but thinking about it, no one would have the expertise and patience to take care of two-face cats. The owner said, firstly, she has to take good care of herself and keeps learning how to raise the kitten on YouTube. She named the kitten Silver Bag (right face) and Gold Bag (left face).
