Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, a government spokesperson, said that Prime Minister Phankham of Laos will be visiting Thailand on June 1 and 2. He will be accompanied by his wife. During his two-day stay, Phankham is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Chan-o-cha of Thailand.
The visit of Phankham, who is the first Laotian Prime Minister to visit Thailand, provides an opportunity to strengthen the two countries’ strategic partnership, as the economic recovery in Laos has started to gain momentum. The two leaders are also expected to discuss the establishment of a comprehensive trade and investment promotion framework. They are also expected to discuss the development of a regional connectivity network.
