Mr. Jatuphon Burusphat goes to Kuiburi forest to solve the problem of overlapping areas

Mr. Jatuporn Burusphat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (TAT), chaired a meeting to follow up and resolve complaints about the overlap of arable land between the Kuiburi National Forests and the Autonomous Settlement Area of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. He ordered the Royal Forestry Department to expedite the process of revoking some of the national forest reserves in Kuiburi. Only the autonomous settlement area overlaps with the national forest reserves.

However, the problem in the case of complaints about the Kui Buri national forest reserve area overlaps with the autonomous settlement in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. This prevents residents in the area from being able to issue land titles in accordance with the Law on Land Alignment for Life 1968, with an area of about 56,605-1-33 rai overlap. This is a long-standing problem. It has been 50 years that the problem is trying to be solved. Indeed, in the past the Royal Forestry Department made amendments to the Ministerial Regulation No. 325 (B.E. 1968) in order to create the Kui Buri National Forest Reserve.

Nowadays, the map has been revised, however, a small piece of forest has been added to the autonomous settlement area. The inhabitants of this area are jointly responsible for preventing any invasion and destruction of the area. The goal is to maintain and develop the area for the benefit of future generations.
