Prachuap Province shows handcrafts in 6 sub-districts from housewife groups on International Women’s Day

Prachuap Khiri Khan organized an exhibition that showed artisanal handcrafts by housewife groups from 6 sub-districts, along with giving certificates of honors to them due to outstanding contributions to communities.

On March 8, 2022, at the courtyard in front of the Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District Office, acting major Adisak Noisuwan, deputy governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province presided over the opening ceremony of the project showing the achievements of the Women’s Role Development Fund to enhance the image of the funded people and the network of Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District on the occasion of International Women’s Day, with Mrs. Sukon Sukanukroh, chairman of the Women’s Role Development Fund, Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District.

In the event, there was an activity to showcase successful products from the housewives groups in 6 sub-districts of Mueang Prachuap District. supported by the Women’s Role Development Fund as well as activities to promote the development of women’s potential in 6 occupational skills by organizing a professional demonstration booth that shows products that have achieved standards, are sold to the market, and shows the practice of making many goods such as

  • fancy cotton wool from Bo Nok Sub-district
  • fried jackfruit from Ao Noi sub-district
  • young coconut pudding from Koh Lak Subdistrict
  • basket weaving, foot towel making from Prachuap Khiri Khan Subdistrict
  • camphor from Khlong Wan Subdistrict 
  • tie-dye cloths from Huai Sai Subdistrict
  • Etc.

On this occasion, the president of the ceremony visited the exhibition booths, tasted must-try things from various districts, and handed certificates of honor to the women who have made outstanding contributions to communities; at the sub-district level, amounting to 6 persons, and at the district level, amounting to 1 person. He also shared consumer goods with women representatives in every sub-district to be donated to poor households in accordance with the goals of the poverty alleviation project, and sustainable development of people of all ages according to the philosophy of sufficiency economy.
