Currently, traveling to Thailand can be confusing due to all the required documentation and constantly changing restrictions. This is why the government has just unveiled ENTRY THAILAND (https://entrythailand.go.th/), a new website to make it easier for the lives of those who wish to enter the country.
The platform contains all the information necessary to enter the country such as documents, restrictions, and conditions, which depend on the country of origin, a list of the hotels that meet the criteria to pass the quarantine period, tax refund, detailed explanation of the airport arrival process, updated alerts, emergency contacts, platforms to acquire international insurance, registration to the Thai pass, and the download link of MorChana app, the app for the protection of the spread of COVID-19.
According to www.datamacro.com, Thailand received almost 40 million tourists in 2019, equivalent to more than half of its total population. For the next year, it is expected to receive between 8 and 15 million foreign visitors. These numbers are much lower than pre-covid times but very encouraging regarding the improvement of the pandemic. Tourism revenue next year is expected to exceed 1.3 trillion THB.
The current tourism minister, Phiphat Ratchakitprakar, says the website is in its first stage and is the first step in a two-year plan to revive tourism in its entirety. The platform will center everything necessary to enter the country and make it easier to plan trips to and within the country. Many companies will benefit, especially those related to tourism.
